ERP Implementation for the Department of Defense
Orizon is currently assisting Northrop Grumman Information Technology with implementing
the Defense Integrated Military Human Resource System (DIMHRS). This PeopleSoft
Human Resources Management System (HRMS) enterprise resources planning (ERP) solution
will eventually replace hundreds of military legacy HR and payroll systems and is
the world’s largest single implementation of an ERP system. The Army, Air Force,
Navy, and Marines will eventually all be on a singe instance of PeopleSoft HRMS,
providing the Department of Defense with the capability of cross service resource
management, more standard operating procedures, and a less costly and more efficient
solution to its HR and payroll requirements.
Orizon is responsible for providing design expertise in PeopleSoft HRMS functionality,
expertise in military payroll processes and procedures, as well as a variety of
other functional and technical disciplines such as requirements management, data
management, broker messaging, configuration management, and interface documentation
and design. The work to date has included:
- Defining and tracing requirements.
- Assisting in defining and designing functional solutions in PeopleSoft HRMS.
- Assisting in defining and documenting the data requirements for legacy interfaces.
- Mapping and defining legacy system interfaces.
- Providing detailed design documents.
- Generating demonstration scenarios to illustrate a ‘fit’ between DoD requirements
and the PeopleSoft HRMS vanilla solution.
- Reviewing and providing feedback for all military pay functional solutions.
- Providing a new set of baseline requirements for military payroll derived from government
use cases.
- Providing traceability for military pay related requirements.
- Providing assistance and training to military HR Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on
PeopleSoft functionality and Rational Rose Requirements tools.
- Collecting, consolidating, analyzing, and prioritizing user requirements for software
changes and improvements.
- Establishing and maintaining the Broker Messaging environment.
